Steven E. Leder, a founder of the Leder & Hale, has over 35 years of experience in the principal areas of the firm’s practice. Mr. Leder has published and lectured extensively. Mr. Leder represents insurance companies in liability coverage disputes, defendants in toxic tort and environmental contamination actions and recreational boating accidents.

Mr. Leder is active in the insurance coverage and defense bars. He has participated in the Defense Research Institute’s Insurance Law section authoring articles for The Defense, the organization’s monthly magazine, and has contributed to several 50-state compendia of insurance law.
Litigation training is a cornerstone of his practice. Mr. Leder has acted as the Program Chair and speaker for a state-wide commercial insurance program. He has been a regular instructor in Deposition Training for the Maryland Bar Association. He was on the Executive Committee and served as Program Chair of the Maryland Defense Counsel for many years. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Maritime Law Association of the United States.
Mr. Leder is a member of the Bars of the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for Maryland, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. In addition, he has represented clients in the courts in New Jersey, Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, Kansas, and Wisconsin.
An AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, He has also been named a Maryland Super Lawyer from 2007 through the present for Insurance Coverage, Environmental Litigation and Transportation / Maritime.
Mr. Leder received his J.D. degree from the Gonzaga University School of Law and his B.A. degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He founded the Leder Law Group in 2003.
